Amy J. Amundsen

Originally from Pennsylvania, I graduated from Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA, and in 1987, from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.   For thirty-two years, I litigated cases as a partner with Rice, Amundsen & Caperton, a PLLC law firm.

In September 2020, I opened my virtual law firm, devoting my practice to helping clients resolve their divorce and other family law matters outside the courtroom and drafting prenuptial, postnuptial, and cohabitation agreements for clients. In addition, I assist lawyers with case strategies and their office practices. While mediation is frequently used to assist clients in resolving their cases, I find the collaborative process offers an opportunity for clients to use interest-based negotiation. With the assistance of trained professionals in a private and confidential setting, clients may reach resolutions aligned with their interests and goals.

I am a member of the Memphis Collaborative Divorce Alliance and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
